Inspiration - HDR Photography

image

HDR stands for “High Dynamic Range” for those of you who don’t know. In some cases the range of hues picked up in the images are even greater than the naked eye can perceive by itself. In some cases, these images can look very artificial if not handled properly. Here is a great collection of HDR Photography from Smashing Magazine. Click here to see the rest.

Life Outside Of Your Own Digital Shadow

image

While I’ve been neck-deep in web design, game design and illustration these last several years, I’ve never lost the need to break away from it all and actually live my life offline. It’s been a tricky balancing act, to be sure, but honestly I’d rather be spending my time with the people in my life that I care about anyway. With that in mind, I wanted to share this video with those of you who haven’t seen it.

Nostalgia Music: 25 Years of Mario

image

Man, 25 years of Mario. These games are without a doubt, my absolute favorite. Proof that no matter where you grew up, this music truly shaped who we are today. Totally blows me away. I never thought that this would get the full orchestral treatment when I was a kid, but dammit, I really hoped it would happen…

Synesthesia: A film by Jonathan Fowler

image

A good look at the phenomenon known as Synesthesia. It’s a rather curious phenomenon where people actually associate or experience colors brought on by their other senses. I can recall a time as a little child that I experienced the same. I’m curious if any of you experience or associate colors with things like words and numbers. I’d like to hear your thoughts.

Samurai Champloo

Samurai Champloo is a hip hop/samurai mash-up by Shinichiro Watanabe. He’s the same guy responsible for Cowboy Bebop, if you remember that one. Here is the first Episode of Samurai Champloo. If you’re into anime and haven’t checked this one out yet, do it right now - It’s that good. I’ve been watching it for years, enjoy!

About Me

I think it's fun to create experiences component by component and then pull it all together using logic. I played with Legos a lot when I was a kid, and now I'm looking forward to the day that my kid is old enough to join in so I have a good excuse to play with them again.
